Osmania University is an epitome of culture and learning in Hyderabad, in the state of Telangana. Founded in 1917 by His Exalted Highness Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, it is a centre of excellence and history, having a rare distinction of being the first University in India and also in the world to conduct education through the Urdu language in keeping with the multicultural and interwoven nature of the Deccan region.
