Lung Nodule

A lung nodule is a small, round or oval-shaped growth in the lung, usually discovered incidentally during a chest scan. Most lung nodules are benign, often caused by past infections or scar tissue. However, some can be early signs of lung cancer, especially in smokers or older adults. Radiologists assess nodules based on size, shape, and growth rate using serial imaging over time. Biopsies may be recommended for suspicious nodules.
