How Do Logistics and Transportation Differ From One Another?

Category : Logistics 1 year ago

What's the Distinction Between Transportation and Logistics? Transportation of commodities has become an integral part of modern life, directly affecting or at least influencing the majority of today's economic sectors. Consider the importance of the transportation and logistics sector to the retail sector. Despite this, the majority of us use transportation and logistics interchangeably since we don't differentiate between the two. Transportation and logistics are both important in moving commodities from one place to another, but they focus on distinct aspects of distribution. Logistics, on the other hand, handles the supply chain from producer to customer and is concerned with the flow of commodities. While both sectors deliver items from one location to another, logistics focuses on the integration of storage, packing, cataloging, and handling. To put it more simply, logistics is the parent business and transportation is a subset.
