Interleukin-35
Researchers have discovered a unique protein called Interleukin 35 (IL-35). This protein protects the immune system by reducing specialized immune cells that produce chemicals that cause inflammation. This protein is a new option for diabetes treatment. It was discovered by the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology, Guwahati. It reduces the effects of pancreatic cell death, a major contributor to type 1 diabetes and autoimmune diabetes mellitus.
