Asteroid 2024 PT-5

According to the American Astronomical Society, asteroid ‘2024 PT5’ can orbit the Earth between September 29 and November 25, 2024. However, due to its extreme faintness, it cannot be seen without the help of any instrument. The mini-moon, 2024 PT5 asteroid has been recently observed by the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) on August 7. India became the winner of Champions Trophy

Recently the Indian men’s hockey team won the Men’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy. This is India’s 5th Champions Trophy title. India defeated China 1-0 in the final. Vertical Launch Short Range Surface-to-Air Missile

Recently, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Navy successfully test fired a state-of-the-art surface-to-air missile (Vertical Launch Short Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) at Chandipur in Odisha. It has been manufactured by DRDO and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL). The missile weighs about 154 kg and is 12.6 feet long. This missile is completely manufactured with indigenous technology. Right to remain silent

Recently, Supreme Court judge Justice Ujjwal Bhuyan upheld the right of an accused to remain silent during interrogation while granting bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. RailTel gets Navratna status

Recently RailTel got Navratna status. It is a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways On Friday, August 30, the government upgraded the four Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) Railtel Corporation of India, Solar Energy Corporation of India, SJVN, and NHPC to ‘Navratna’ status.
